This is Jennifer’s story
Clean for three years, Jennifer, mother of six and grandmother of eight, was a crack cocaine addict for 18 years.
"I lost my property - became homeless - and the kids were taken into care. It was really horrible living on the streets for five years, thinking no door would be opened to me again.
With the support of Spires Streetlink, a charity in South London helping women involved in sex work, I became clean, because they engaged with me and had faith in me, believing I could do just that little bit more...
I became a volunteer with Spires, which I'm very proud to be. I am an outreach worker going back on to the streets in the van. Going out there was really mind-openingseeing the other women and encouraging them. When they see me they say “My God, if Jennifer can do it, so can I!”"
SLF funded a professional healthcare worker at Spires Streetlink.
