This is Mustafa's Story

“When I was 15, I started mixing with the wrong people, I got kicked out of school because I was involved in anti-social behaviour, robberies & fraud. People around me started hating me. They had no trust in me, no respect for me. I felt like a no good waste of space.
I ended up being referred to a Youth Offending Team and the police sent me to [Osmani Trust's] the Aasha project. Aasha work with young people who are involved in crime, youth conflict and anti-social behaviour. Aasha helped me get accredited training, opened the doors of employment and kept me off the streets.
Now I am in full-time employment and doing an access course in youth community and social work. I feel like I have a responsibility toward helping people who are facing problems like I faced. I can repay the community back for the damage I caused.”
The Aasha Project at Osmani Trust has received a significant grant from SLF to fund its work with BAME youth.
