Metropolitan Police Service
We are the Met Police’s charity and work closely with senior officers to ensure that our priorities align with their key priorities including objectives within their Children & Young People’s Strategy.

There are over 2.3m young people in London and they make up over 30% of the capital’s population and are therefore a priority for the Met.
Children & Young People’s Strategy key objectives:
- prevention and reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour involving young people
- improving the satisfaction and confidence of children and young people in their police service
- Improving the safety of children and young people
- Improving the effectiveness of responses to children and young people
We work closely with the Commissioner, his management team and the 32 Borough Commanders responsible for policing London to identify strategic pan-London projects and activities that we can develop and deliver, as well as borough-based and cross-borough initiatives.
Safer Neighbourhoods
At local level we work directly with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams. They are the community police who deal with day-to-day crime and disorder and work towards providing long-term local solutions to local problems and reducing crime. This can include bringing young people and the police together in a constructive environment with the aim of opening up dialogue, exploring ways to resolve local issues and improving relationships.
