What We Do
Young people in the capital
There are over 2.3 million young people in London. The vast majority are not involved in violence or criminal behaviour but across the capital - not just in the most deprived areas - many are victims of crime.

Equally many live on the edge of gang life and could easily get drawn into crime and violence. We want to help and support as many young people as possible and encourage them to help their peers and others within their communities feel safe and be safe.
Our work
We develop and deliver projects, campaigns and engagement activities to empower young people to make positive changes to their lives. We cover a wide range of issues associated with young people, crime and violence.
We support the delivery of the Met Police’s key aims of preventing and reducing crime, particularly serious youth violence and violence against young women and girls and we work across London as well as in priority boroughs and wards.
Our work involves supporting young people at varying stages in their lives and ranges from early invention and prevention to diversion and rehabilitation. We also provide targeted support and interventions. Some young people live complex lives and this can involve smaller numbers being in receipt of support from a range of statutory and community agencies to provide holistic solutions.
Our projects provide information, advice and support to young people about the crime risks they face and promote positive engagement with the police and the communities they serve. Research shows that positive activities in this area can divert young people away from crime so our projects are strategic in order to achieve this outcome.
